First of all, I have to tell you something that might surprise you. In Colombia; we don’t have seasons… I know it’s quite shocking but, to be honest, who needs seasons through the year when you can experience all four seasons in one day? That’s basically what the weather in Bogotá is.
Just so you know, we do have regions of Colombia that are hot or cold every single day of the year, but let’s focus on Bogotá. Our weather changes constantly, most of the time it’s quite cold but, let’s face it, our city is the place where you are cold in the morning, hot in the afternoon and then cold again at night. We are not trying to scare you! It’s just a heads up because the weather in Bogotá is part of the experience you will have.
The average temperature is 14ºC; it doesn’t get any higher than 21ºC or lower that 7ºC. You should know that it gets a little windy in July and August, but it is also very common that it rains in any time of the year, although October and November are considered the months with the highest rainfall and December, January and February the months with the lowest rainfall.
It’s hard to predict the weather here, but don’t worry, that’s what makes Bogotá an exciting city, because there’s no bad time to visit it. Besides, if it’s too sunny you can go to the park, make a picnic or maybe just enjoy a delicious ice cream. If it’s cold, there are a lot of indoor plans to have fun with, so you will never get bored.
I’ll give you some tips, it’s better if you always carry a jacket or a sweater with you, and of course, having an umbrella, sunscreen and a good pair of sunglasses is always a good idea. Don’t wait any longer and come and live the best experiences in the city that is always changing.
